KANSAS CITY, MO – February 2nd, 2024 – In a thrilling alignment with the Kansas City Chiefs’ Road to Super Bowl LVIII, the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) and the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation announced the second annual “Super Bowl of Service” event. This impactful initiative is launched in partnership with Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback, NFL MVP, and Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee Patrick Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, leveraging the spirit of sports to foster community service and youth development.

As the Chiefs prepare for their big game, YVC and the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation are set to harness Kansas City’s electrifying atmosphere to drive positive change. Scheduled for Thursday, February 8th at 5:30 pm, youth volunteers will gather to kick off the event by decorating donation boxes. These boxes will be strategically placed in various schools and businesses throughout the Kansas City area.

From February 15 to February 28, a spirited collection drive will take place, focusing on gathering new or gently used sports equipment. This endeavor aims to support and empower under-resourced youth in Kansas City, providing them with the necessary gear to pursue their sporting dreams.

This initiative not only aligns with YVC’s mission to engage youth in meaningful service experiences but also resonates with the values of the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation. Together, they underscore the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and community support.

“Aligning with the Youth Volunteer Corps around this event is going to make a major impact for Kansas City,” said Philip Hetu, of the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation. “Our partnership with YVC reflects the essence of what Patrick, Brittany, and the whole 15 and the Mahomies Foundation stands for – leadership, community service, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others!”

YVC invites youth across Kansas City to be part of this transformative experience. For more details and to register, please visit https://yvc.org/kansas-city/.
